Provincial Appoints St. John's 28th President
Following the by-laws of the institution, the Board of Trustees
presented Mr. Jeffrey Mancabelli name to the Provincial for consideration after a unanimous vote. Brother Dennis Malloy,
FSC accepted and appointed Mr. Jeffrey Mancabelli as St. John's College High School's 28th President. Mancabelli has spent the past nine years as Principal at St. John's and has made a lifelong commitment to Catholic education that has been rooted in the
Lasallian vision of educating the whole person. In addition, he will continue to play an important role of continuing the outstanding renaissance the school has seen for the past decade.
One of the first and most important elements of the transition will include Mancabelli working with Brother Dennis to secure a new Principal for St. John's. The Board of Trustees is hoping to make the announcement on Mancabelli's successor in the near future.

Coleman to Play Professionally in Washington
Marissa
Coleman '05 led St. John's to a pair of Washington Catholic Athletic
Conference girls basketball championships in 2002 and 2004. She was the
Atlantic Coast Conference Rookie of the Year in 2006, and helped lead
the University of Maryland to a national title. Now, Coleman will seek
to lead another local team to a championship.
On April 9, Coleman was the second overall draft pick of the Washington Mystics in the annual WNBA Draft.
Coleman's first home game for the Mystics will be a preseason match-up on May 28 at the Verizon Center. Her first regular season game will be at Connecticut on June 6, followed by the home opener the next day against Atlanta.
The Washington Mystics are already promoting Coleman's upcoming rookie season for season ticket sales. Coleman's Corner Package is being advertised as: "See the Terp's #25 as Mystics #4 (for) $425." Coleman wore #25 at St. John's and Maryland and will wear #4 with the Mystics.
The Cheltenham, Md. native completed her four-year career at Maryland second all-time in scoring and rebounding. She also became the first player in ACC history to accumulate over 2,000 points, 1,000 rebounds, 400 assists, 200 steals and 100 blocks. At St. John's, Coleman set school records with 2,057 points and 1,750 rebounds and was a two-time Washington, D.C. Gatorade Player of the Year.
Coleman is not the first St. John's alumna to be selected in the WNBA Draft. Davalyn Cunningham '98 was drafted 23rd overall by the Orlando Miracle in 2002 after four years as a student-athlete at Rutgers University.
